but maybe not, so posting it off topic.
MY WASHING MACHINE HAS ARRIVED! it only took four more calls to Eddie the salesman. We left it at it was for sure cross my heart and hope to die stick a needle in my eye coming tomorrow at 5:00. But when I arrived home, a fifth call (ahh, that nasty fifth business) had been made to my house (Eddie is a chicken because he knows I am never home) and they came an hour later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Let the joyous news be spread, the old machine has been hauled away dead. Immediately sent loved one out on emergency trip to get HE detergent. Immediately sent him out again when he returned with non HE detergent (tough love, kids, we call it tough love). Waited in agony as machine went through its first EMPTY EMPTY EMPTY cycle.
Now I am going to do some laundry. I don't care if the door is off the basement, the stove is in the middle of the kitchen, half the staircase is in the hall. Who cares?
Would you believe an origami crane Bounce talisman slyly peeking out of my pocket?
P.S. Admin, this is exactly the kind of post I am talking about. Some people might have scored at least ten posts but for the sake of the unity of the whole, the gestalt of the matter, I kept it as one.

Cathy Rose, I am not proud of my new washer--I had to accept something I didn't want because nothing else would fit down our stairs. My new kick butt fly me to the moon machine had to be returned. So I have the Charlie Brown Christmas tree washer. Having said that, having had no washer at all for two weeks, a pile of stones in the river was starting to look attractive! Not inspired to scrap it. Unless I can get dear son to tie my luxurious flylady purple feather duster over his nether parts and pose nude on top of it.

All bow in praise of the new washing machine as it this means you will now be able to wash clothes again. This is a good thing. And also let us all bow in praise of the length of that post. It is truly impressive and surely worthy of SEVERAL additional posts to the ongoing tally? (still trying to help ya out here... LOLOLOL)

WooHoo! So happy the washer finally made it! And, may I say, any post that involves the word "gestalt" is surely deserving of a couple of extra points :) I love that word!

WTG!!! Wanna hear my washign machine story? Too bad, if you don't, coz here it is - LOL
My washing machine broke down last year - only five years old - I call up a repair guy and he comes and gives me a quote and then has to call back with the price of the necessary parts -
he calls: sorry, M'am, but they don't make the parts for that model anymore me: you are kidding right, it's only five years old.
Him: no, sorry, can't help you!
GRRR - had to go and get a new one and was out one washing machine for two weeks - had to go to the laundromat! Finally, they call - will you be home on Thursday, between 9.00 and 3.00?
Me: No, I have to pick up my daughter at 2.45 - can you come earlier
them: we will try, but can't guarantee it
Me: so, okay - how about I give you my mobile (cell) phone number and you can call me
them: (very reluctant) okay then
They turned up at 11.00 in the morning - honestly!

WOW! On time delivery people! They are only supposed to come when you are in the shower or something...

I like to think of it this way, the Charlie Brown Christmas tree washer still gets the clothes clean and now you probably have money left over for the really fun stuff!

As long as the clothes get clean, who needs a high-end washer? Seriously... I got one that was very mid-priced when I bought mine. As long as it had a big "tub" inside, I was happy. I didn't need five hundred settings.

Indeed, clean clothes are, after all, the main goal!

I have to do laundry and I'm procrastinating. I better get my butt in gear or I will have no clean pants to wear tomorrow. And I'm going garage sale hopping, so I need pants.

As long as it is a high capacity I am happy. With 4 little people I MUST have a large capacity. Especially now during baseball season!

I have an old stackable someone gave me. It has duct tape around the tub so it won't come loose, leak and create a racket (endured this for 6 months because the front was too rusty to remove - finally had to drill holes around the bolts and rip it off!).
But it's still a joy to pop those clothes in there and have them clean in 20 minutes. No laundromat. No quarters. No monthly payment. As a former apartment dweller I'm still happy about this!

Dh's family got us a washer and dryer for a wedding gift and I have never loved a gift more! After years of going to the laundromat I still just love having it right there at home! DH and I had way too many laundry dates, that is for sure!

The worst was when I lived in a fifth floor walkup and had to go to the laudromat. UGH! Carrying those dirty clothes down down down the stairs and then lugging the clean clothes up up up the stairs. Such a drag. When we bought our house and I had my own machines for the first time in years, I celebrated by doing many loads of laundry at any time day or night, just because I COULD!
Hooray for washers, Charlie Brown & all. I'm sure a little MAD love will make that baby glow. Now you have to respond on everyone who responded to your thread to get your 20 posts. :D
