This is really off the topic! I have a New Zealand sedge in the garden and this is her second season. Should I give her a haircut for the spring or leave her alone?

LOL I asked my husband (he's a gardener by trade), but he says he doesn't know about kiwis because they won't really grow here (in Arizona). So, I guess I'm no help either LOL

I don't know if she needs a haircut, but I bet she would love a drink of water!

LOL Nicole - you probably just don't get enough sun for the cacti, so maybe that's not your fault :) (At least I can only assume that the Netherlands is about as cloudy as Western Michigan, Washington state and everywhere else that the Dutch folks I'm related to seem to have wanted to settle LOL - yeah if I haven't told you that already I'm Dutch - my maiden name was Vander Vliet :) )

that is a dutch name allright. where you born in holland or ever visited? it is cloudy rainy windy and sometimes sunny, it is not that bad we just have 4 seasons, which is nice but I did not mind the sunny weather for years when I live din the states. but as for the cactis I even kill one within a week the ones you keep in your house.lol

I do have a bit of a green thumb, but I'm not familiar with that particular plant, so I'm no help in the least. I'm doing the happy dance in my yard right now though because my vibrantly pink peonies are in bloom! YIPPEE.

I wasn't born there, my family is actually something like 5th generation in the states, but my grandparents and aunts and uncles still spoke Dutch. My mom understands it, but can't really speak it well so I never really learned. But, she does make some fantastic Dutch treats and I've learned to make some of those - Banket is my all time favorite - DH now pretty much demands it every Christmas LOL I have visited, but just once and we only really got to spend time in Amsterdam, so I'd really love to get back someday and see more of the country :)
