I've passed the 400 mark just now (this should be post 403), and I'm in the home stretch for free quirking goodness. So I thought it was time to introduce another discussion point.
Does anyone have any cool things that they collect?
I collect cow stuff and have for 15 years. I finally had to tell people who give me gifts to stop with the cows because I have way too much cow stuff already. (Although the big cow flowerpot I use at a pen/pencil holder on my desk is quite adorable -- I'm admiring it now.)
I also have a penchant for old metal advertising signs, but I only have four of them, so I'm not sure if that is a collection or merely the start of one.

DH and I have quite a rock collection - Tucson has the world's greatest gem and mineral show once a year, so we can always find great stuff from all over the world :) We've also started collecting those smashed pennies from all the places we visit - they're super touristy, but fun :) As a kid, I also collected napkins - not sure what happened to that collection in fact, maybe I should see if my mom still has it LOL

Cool! Rock on! (sorry, I simply couldn't resist that one!) I know the smashed pennies that you mean. I have a few, not many. Since we live near NYC, I always end up doing them when we take visitors sight-seeing. So I have a few from the Empire State Building and places like that. I think all of the ones I have are from NYC sights.
I have had various collections through the years. I used to have a massive keychain collection (2 shoeboxes full). And then I collected unicorn and pegasus figurines for a while. My latest is honeypots, although I only have 3. But I really like them, and they are hard to find.
If I was honest, I'd say I collected digital scrapbook kits.

We're big readers at our house. Our book collection is so large that we had to rent a storage building for the excess (in spite of the fact that we have an office and another spare room upstairs). I also collect Kentucky cookbooks. That collection alone runs into the hundreds. Is there a Reader's Anonymous? I think we need help.

Me too...but I'm a freebie fiend right now until our finances get better
and I can justify buying kits to my dh! lol!
Okay...I have quite a few collections:
I used to have a huge teddy bear collection when I was a teen and still kind of have it but little by little I've been letting go of the ones that are not collectables, I still get tb's and hope to create some of my own but for now I let my family & friends know that if they plan to get me a bear it must be Boyd's bears or similar quality to it bears!! I do have a couple of beanie bears but only 3! Oh and of course some care bears!
Another collection that I had to slow down on is Angels pictures & figurines mainly! I love these but sometimes I'd get some for gifts that were not really, well to be nice, they didn't do Angels justice. So I have a few that I've kept that are my favorites.
One of my favorites is Mary Englebriet books and kitchen decor but it has to be pieces that will match my kitchen which is lilac so I have a few pieces only at this time.
Last but not least...Hats & those cute little handbags (if I could shoes too!)
I have quite a hat collection going (my nieces love to wear them for photos when they stay here!) my little handbag collection is not as big as my hats but I have enough to say it's a collection!! :D
I think that about covers it!!

Ohh...your rock collection sounds cool! I have always loved those type of rocks! I have a little collection that I forgot to mention too! My dh & I share it too Lisa...we collect a rock or two from places we've gone too (which is not that many yet!) but we did get a red rock from Sedona when we last visited Arizona!

Yeah, the red rocks there are totally amazing! Even the dirt is so red!
Also, I'm not sure if it's really a collection or just a hopeless compulsion to buy them, but I have a million handbags! I just love them LOL

I am a collector too. I collect houses, David Winter cottages, Cat's Meow houses. I also collect and make miniatures. I have huge Victorian dollhouse that my DH and I made, an antique shop, gift shoppe and a general store. I also have a large collection of Gene Marshall fashion dolls and some celebrity dolls. I have really resisted collecting anymore of any of these things the last few years. DH and I are trying to downsize and plan to simplify our lives a bit before we get to retirement.

Krista, you are so funny! I have some but they are not digital. Promise I will take some new ones or scan the old. My problem is that I want to take good pictures and I am not a particularly good photographer. I need to get over that and just take some pics. I'll put some up soon!

They don't have to be award-winning pix. I am just curious to see it. I love miniatures. When I was younger, we used to go every year to see a miniature train display in Pittsburgh (where we lived at the time) and I would just study all of the stuff -- the little houses and towns and people and animals and trees... I just loved it. So I am very curious to see your miniatures. Thanks for sharing in advance. I'm very psyched and can't wait to see them! :)

I collect cobalt glass, though I haven't added much in the last few years. I also collect small blue and white and silver items for a little wall mounted cabinet I have at my entrance. It has a variety of things in it, old bottles, silver pieces, salt and peppers, very eclectic but they all have either blue or silver and a lot have white as well.
Oh, and did I mention, paper.
books, love books of all kinds!

I always wished I'd learned to play the violin.
Krista, do you play the Clarinet? That was my principal instrument in college. :)
My instrument collection consists of a piano, 3 guitars, 1 bass guitar, 1 half-sized guitar, a ukelele, a clarinet, a piccolo, a flute, a trombone, a trumpet, a set of bongos, a penny whistle, a recorder, 2 harmonicas, an accordion and... I think that's all. :D Can you tell my husband manages a music store?

I played clarinet in elementary school, middle school and part of high school (until my junior year). So I can play, but I haven't done so in years so I'd probably be HORRENDOUSLY rusty. But we can have clarinet duets!!!
