In honour of the public opening of DAQ I wanted to start off with some quotes to help us celebrate our quirkiness! I thought a good artist to help us with that would be the very quirky Pablo Picasso.

I would like to think that if Picasso was living today and he happened to create with a computer instead of a paintbrush that he would fit in pretty well here at DAQ! So, without further ado, here are my Top 10 favourite Picasso quotes:

I love them all. The act of creation requiring an act of destruction one really hits home - it seems like to really break thru you have to let go of parts of the piece you are attached to.

Once I was doing these wood/acrylic distressed collagey paintings and I hated them and busted them w/a hammer. I ended up retrieving them out of the garbage and reassembling with staples/wire. I think I even sold a couple!

I agree, great quotes, I like the first one and did a lay-out on it it is in the gallery used the world today does not make any sense (here I altered the quote a little bit) so why should I create art that does.
