Holy Cow. When we talked about it, it didn't really seem like that many posts. But ... In Real Life, it IS.

Thank you so much for creating such amazing art, making it easy to leave comments. Lots and lots of comments. Over 500 comments!!

Cheers!!!

AmyK do you really say Holy Cow?

Actually, I do say Holy Cow. And other "Holy MAD Artists, Batman!" types of things. But I was saying Holy Cow in that instance to be part of the gang. Did I stick out like a sore thumb???

No, just curious. I noticed that Chinook said Holy Cow and so do I and we both hail from Canada. So, my brain starts to wonder...I couldn't tell where you were from so I went to your blog and that blew up my Canadian theory...unless you were posting in tune with the original post and didn't say Holy Cow IRL which still left some hope for my theory. You have now firmly dynamited it and I will start to look for a different commonality among those who use this time honoured epithet...

We used to say "Holy Cow" when I was a kid growing up in PA. I have no idea where that exclamation started.

Me either. Wonder if it has any Indian connection? As in Sacred Cows? I used to collect holstein cows (not real ones) and one of my favourite pieces was a mobile of clay cows with teeny halos that nicely tinkled when the wind blew. Of course they were my holy cows.

I say Holy Cow too. But even more disturbing, considering we were in each other's brains for a while there, is that I do the Holy Toledo, Batman (or Holy Awesome Layout, Batman) ALL the time. How funny is that?

Raven, did we discuss this? I collect cows too. Have for years. I knew I liked you for a reason.

Well, I do say Holy Cow Batman! when something requires a little more than a Yikes or a Holy Cow. But I save that for really big stuff, you know? As for collecting cows, Skye, I am starting to get a little shocked by the threads that bind certain things to certain members, different ones and different things (hard to explain but think of Kazadoodle's unstructured crochet).

Certainly, we have been exposed to the same media influences and I suspect that many of us are in an approximate same age range so that might account for a lot of it. Some of it may be accounted for by the fact that we are self proclaimed quirks (My name is Raven and I am a quirk. I did my last layout two hours ago...) who have an interest in visual arts. I guess I would EXPECT quirk artists to like crayons. And I would EXPECT people who are into art to find the form, substance, heft and texture of a holstein irresistible. I was a little more stunned by the shared library experiences, the shared expressions etcetera. I have missed a lot of examples that have come out in the threads but there are REALLY a lot!
