It's hot in here. My air conditioning broke down last night. If you see any droplets on any of my posts, it's sweat... I'm not crying (well, I might be crying too, depending on how long it takes a repairman to come to my house -- it could take a few days). It never fails... the temps go into the 90s and my A/C goes on the fritz. Thank goodness today is only supposed to be 83 here. We're having a cold snap.

lucky you, I wish that I could say that, no just kidding I know what it is when the airco is down and it is hot outside. we dont have ac in holland just heathers, we are still wearing wintercoats it is only bearly 60 here. spring has been bad soo far last year this time of the year we had 80, that is a lot of difference. weather is sooo weird here. never know what you are going to get. hope you get the ac fixed quik.
or I will send you some fresh air from holland.:)

I feel your pain. It was 91 degrees here yesterday and the humidity was even higher. Luckily, our air conditioner went out last week, so we were able to get it repaired before the heat hit.

Oh, poor you. Here's wishing that the repair man comes QUICK (or is that QUIRK) ... and fixes it properly the first time. :-)

Nicole, here in the UK we've had the same sort of unpredictable weather as you. Here it is at the end of May and we had a frost last night!!! It's crazy.
Mind you, I can't take the heat anyway -it's me age - so I hope you get your A-C sorted soon,Krista. That must be awful. xxx

I would die without my AC! I can't handle it being 76 in the house--must be low 70s or below. Yesterday it was needed, today it is supposed to start raining again, I think. But maybe that's later, because it doesn't look THAT cloudy out right now. Maybe I should watch the local news or read the paper or visit weather.com once in a while so I would know for sure. But, I just live in the moment with the weather right now.

I am so sorry! I don't even know what I'll do if our AC goes out - it's too horrible to consider! It's already in the 100 degree range here - even one day without it would be miserable! I bet the AC repair guys here can charge an arm and a leg LOL

The weather there sounds nicer, actually. I hate hot weather. Thanks for the fresh air from Holland, Nicole!! That sounds nice right now!

Thanks everyone. Turns out it pays to have a service contract, because I'm jumping ahead of a bunch of other folks on the list who don't. The guy is coming tomorrow. Hallelujah!!!!!!! Me and hot weather don't get along so well. I simply abhor it, truth be told. Give me spring and fall any time. I love light jacket weather.

Luckily, my DH hates the heat as much as I do, so it's never an issue about when to turn it on. You could always sneak it on and see if he notices...

Yuck. It is so disgustingly humid here that I could not stand to be without the A/C for a day or more. My parents have had their unit go out several times - and they usually end up in a motel room, LOL

At last, I discover that I truly am quirky. I don't have AC and don't want it. In fact, I tried to buy a car without one, too and the guy gave me the "lady, what planet do you live on look". Which I smartly rebutted, she proclaimed, by saying if it wasn't optional then why list it as a feature? I mean, they didn't say 4 wheels in the ad....

LOL Raven - maybe you and Neil Postman should go car shopping together :) Have you ever read any of his books? He's great on technology and its perils. His theory is basically that if a technology doesn't solve a problem you actually have you don't need it. I heard him speak a couple of times and he tells the best car buying story. He tried to buy a car without automatic everything and was explaining to the salesman why he didn't want this or that piece of technology because it didn't really solve a problem that he had. He gets to automatic windows and the salesman says "there's a technology that solves a problem - the problem of reaching across to roll down the passenger window." Postman tells him, "I'm an academic, reaching across to roll down the window is the only exercise I get." Love that. Wow, that was really long and barely on point LOL, anyway, I highly recommend any of his books - especially Technopoly and Amusing Ourselves to Death.

Oh yeah--perimenopausal women should get to trump every weather-related decisions spouse's make. I am so tired of waking up soaking wet from sweating, only to freeze to death because DH likes to have the window open at night! Very hard to get back to sleep!

Anytime! Happy to help! LOL.
And as a side note, A/C repair guy has come and gone and my office is once again appropriately icy. I am one happy quirker! (And over $300 poorer :( .)
