Er, I mean Keen Raven missed me. I was MIA for a few days, and for that I apologize. But I just logged on to find her frantically wondering if I was alive or had succumbed to the heat when my A/C broke... I was just so tickled to have been missed, but it also made me realize that I probably should have given the heads-up to my DAQ pals that I would be AWOL for a bit. Anyway, I apologize for not letting you guys know in advance that I would be away from my computer...

Where was I? Thursday night I had a show in the city to attend. Got home super late. Friday, I went to the NJ Memories Expo and shopped for crafting supplies. Then I went to get a hair cut. Then I went out to dinner with my hubby. Then I got home very late and went right to bed (wanted to check in at DAQ, but I knew I had to get up early the next morning). Saturday, I went BACK to the Expo, this time to network and chat some people up. It was great fun. We met Mr. Rusty Pickle himself and I was simply agog. I almost did the Wayne & Garth "I'm not worthy" bow, but I stopped myself just in time. Their booth had these books to alter, gorgeous papers, lovely embellishments that weren't the least bit cutesy (I don't do cutesy). Just super stuff and I wanted one of EVERYTHING! Anyway, we met the owner of the company and talked to him for a long while.

Tim Holtz was there (oh, forgot to put this in my blog -- will have to go back and add it) demonstrating with stamps and such. I couldn't even get close enough to see WHAT he was demonstrating... his table was mobbed. It was like he was the Beatles or something. I didn't even recognize him on Friday because his hair wasn't all spiky in front like it is in the pictures I've seen in his ads, etc. So that was like a superstar sighting too. I would have done the Wayne & Garth to him too -- I love the products that have his name on them so much.

By the time I got back from that, I was beat. I napped. And then I started feeling like I was getting sick (turns out I was... I have a lovely cold now!), so while my external drive was erasing and reformatting (it completely flaked out on me, frustratingly enough), I watched the Keira Knightley version of Pride & Prejudice (I couldn't go online while the whole external drive thing was running... it took forever). For those who haven't seen it and are wondering, Matthew Macfadyen who plays Darcy is really great, but not quite as good as my man Colin Firth. Keira was fab in it.

Sunday, I was a complete and utter bum. I was feeling lousy and just slept and watched P&P again (with the director's commentary on this time) and slept some more. I was reloading all of the stuff back onto the drive that I had had to remove over the weekend before I erased it. While that was running, my computer was abysmally slow, so I didn't even bother trying to go online. I went to bed super early.

Today, I had a day job event to attend....

And now here I am. Ready to over-run the DAQ forums once again. And check out all of the new gallery posts.

I will be a lot less able to be a forum ho for the foreseeable future, though. My day job kicks back into super high gear this week (don't these clients REALIZE I have to quirk and chat with my DAQ pals?????). So Keen Raven et al... if I'm not around as much, it's not that I love you any less. I'm just "workin' hard for the money" (doing my best Donna Summer impression there...). But I won't disappear, I promise. And if I won't be online for a few days, I'll give you all a warning so you don't worry about me again!

Thanks Keen Raven Kim Nevermore for checking on me! I love that you did. It made me smile and I'm so sorry for worrying you.

(Ok, is this enough of a novel? Have I beat Keen Raven for the longest post EVER on DAQ?)

OH, I also forgot to mention that I finally figured out Madge's second half of her name for the naming ceremony and I'm so excited about it that I will be hard-pressed to wait for another week plus to give it to her!!!!!

The expo sounds fab. Sorry to hear you've got a cold - yuck - I just got over a month long one a week ago.

Glad you're back, but sorry your life is so hectic. Truth is, it's been kind of quiet around here. Everyone must be busy with school ending and vacations beginning.
