Ok, I'll admit it... I've been keeping an eye on my post number the past few days since I was so close to 1000. I was SO EXCITED that I was going to go from OverQuirked to Quirk-a-holic (I know, I seriously need to get a life, don't I?). But lo and behold, a few comments in the gallery, I'm over 1000, yet I remain OverQuirked. So I pose the question: WHY? Why didn't it flip over? Why am I even concerned about this? Who's going to care besides me?
(answer to that last question: "Uh, that would be NOBODY, Krista. Stop acting like petulant child and go back to being ebullient child already!")

OMG, the gods of posting titles heard my plea when I hit the "post" button on my last post. I am now a Quirk-a-holic. You may now return to your previously scheduled quirking, already in progress....

Jeepers, I am not even overquirked yet. Plodding on...

So, it must be 1005 that gets you to the next level? Cool--and quirky!

Yeah, I think so. I was starting to think I was being dissed! ;)

Are the voices in your head telling you that, Krista?

You hear them too? I thought it was just me... ;)

So what's the next stage after Quirkaholicism? Quirkaholics Anonymous? Quirkopausal?

Quirkopausal insinuates a stoppage of (or a slow reduction in) quirking. I don't wanna stop!

I have had real success stopping them from penetrating my loofah by using ordinary household aluminum foil. There is no need to go over the top and shape it like antennae or the like. Simply putting strips around the brow and covering the crown stops those annoying voices dead in their tracks.

I am seeing the Reynolds wrap ladies (you know, Pat and Betty) touting a new product for the paranoid schizophrenic market--Reynolds Aluminum Scalp Wrap with EZ Slide Cutter, comes in 4" width for convenient self-wrapping and optional antennae-rolling.

Yeah, well I would kill for the EZ Slide Cutter but my handlers cut it off the edge of the box before they give it to me. It is an "earned privilege" and I haven't made it there yet. That whole dining room melee was improperly attributed to me and I am taking the fall for it...

Oh, I haven't been using an antenna. Maybe that's why I haven't been getting good reception lately.

Okay, this HAS GOT TO BE my first Quirk challenge--I wanna see pieces of ladies in their aluminum headgear, extra bonus points for any altering done...but plain everyday foil headgear takes permissible.

So now I have this vision in my head: Krista wearing aluminum foil antennae; Kim running around in a (special) white jacket claiming she didn't do it;and Becky waving a loofah in the background while reciting mathematical formulas. It's such a quirky idea that I may just have to scrap it.;)

Donna, I am not just CLAIMING I didn't do it--I really didn't do it.

Look at Raven backpedaling.... this was all her idea and no amount of "not me, not me" will convince me otherwise...
Actually when I get highlights (I am a natural blonde, but a darker natural blonde than I like, especially in winter time, so my hair guy Steven helps me get lighter), and I have a head full of foil at the salon, my husband, who has seen me in such a state, said he expects me to be intercepting either really cool music from somewhere, some renegade TV broadcast, or communique from another galaxy. I usually opt for really cool music... but that's just me.

As if I'd have photographic proof of this... riiiiiiiiight.
Meanwhile I just realized that post of mine was virtually one looooooong sentence. Scary.

Not scary at all...that's the way ebullient children talk (well, them and the schizophrenic receiving messages from the Intergalactic Space Federation while walking up and down the streets of my hometown...)
Anyhooo....I am SO getting out some aluminum foil to make my own Quirk Helmet. You think I won't? I DID take up a dare to eat a teaspoon of mustard during Camp SBB--I'm not afraid of you! And my daughter will help, too, because she is very quirky herself!
It's a good thing aluminum foil rips fairly easily so you don't absolutely HAVE to have the EZ slide cutter--I do hope you are exonerated soon, Keen Raven...I hate seeing your wings clipped like this.

No fear, I managed to sneak out some cutlery during that dining room meltdown (but I tell you, I didn't start it.) I have been giving more thought than I care to particularise (okay, okay so about maybe 6.7589% of my waking thought) about altering my foil for the challenge I have thrown out. Of course they won't let me near the scissors or the paint (as if I would put such foul mouthed slogans on the sun room chairs. They so don't know me. If I were going to do such a thing I would make sure the colours co ordinated! Obviously I am quite enured to being accused of things I haven't done but it is hurtful to be accused of tasteless, non-esthetic things).
I checked with She Who Must be Obeyed (and whose arse must be kissed--don't ask me why the Canadian expletive is allowed and the American obfuscated, I am not a linguist nor am I a compulsive rule follower: in fact, I have shown remarkable progress in my compulsive hand washing and on the whole my compulsions (excepting long narrative) seem to be well in relatively unclean hand ). She says I can use embroidery thread and tapestry wool. I guess they can't imagine a crewel death (lithium cannot dull this wit...) I can probably get them to let me use the glue too, it isn't like I can glue my nostrils and my mouth shut...In fact, virtually nothing has been known to shut my mouth and I am beginning to suspect that that is the root of all of my problems...
I don't figure this challenge or my net privileges will last long enough for me to recreate the Bayeux Tapestry (sp is suspect here) so might have to keep it simple.
Can't wait to see yours, Webchyk.

Crewel death? Oh, what a tangled web she weaves (when on lithium).
And, I used the word claim, because let's face it, we only have your side of this story. Why would the caregivers assume that you were the one with the artistic flair and the cutting edge (I can do puns, too)? Had you given them reason to believe you capable of such acts?
Answer us true, dear Raven, and I promise I won't scrap you with or without appropriate aluminum headgear.

so it isn't aluminium, but it IS metal, so it should keep the cosmic rays at bay. At least it comes with its own lightning conductor
