a web page to put my blinkie on. But having trouble configuring the signature option to show it. I am referencing my home page--how do I reference the gif on it rather than the page itself? If some kind soul would please PM me the actual line they use so I can edit it, would be most grateful. As stated many times (in a loud raven way) I hate blinkies but have to honour Robyn! Peeves me that I actually hacked me way through Rogers and Yahoo and Coffee Cup and have the darn thing up and blinking in outer space but only a small red x here...

So, you've uploaded the little .gif to your server somewhere, what you need to do is click on the image button in your signature doo-dah here at DAQ and a little box will pop up and you will type in something like this:

http://home.comcast.net/~webchyck/hardatquirk.gif

your ISP's info for your web site on their server and just the name of the .gif file.

The signature doo-dah here at DAQ will automatically put in the image HTML code

Does that help?

Oh, and you DON'T have to create a web page for the image. You just have to upload it to your ISP's (or photo storage provider's) server.

What are you quirking with today--I'm trying not to interfere with the transmissions today, so it's strictly caffeine!

Funny you should ask! Somehow I volunteered to SPEND THE NIGHT at the gym that I own with my sons and some friends (7 boys in all). My oldest is turning 9 on Monday and is too old for a party at The Little Gym! So this was my compromise ... still free for me ... still cool for him! Anyway, while you were asking me what I was quirking with, I had my head in a bowl of cake batter! I'm lucky to end up with half a cake because I love the batter so much! My MIL says that raw cake batter will give me worms!! LOL! Anyway, my quirk juice of choice today is birthday cake batter!!!

Where the heck did that old wives tale start that cake or cookie batter would give you worms? From what source? Wheat? Eggs? Sugar? That's just so stupid. I so love raw cookie dough. I used to make it and never bake the darn things!

According to my MIL ... and she is all-knowing ;) ... it's the eggs!

Worm eggs laid inside the chicken egg? LOL! I'm just trying to figure out how they'd get in there! Now salmonella---THAT I don't want! But the stats are like 1 in 20,000 eggs. I'll take my chances...now let's whip up some chocolate chip cookie dough!

You're blinkie ROCKS, Nevermore ;)

Thanks Jenn (by now you have discovered that threads in here are in a constant state of hijack. I love it.) It was made by Miss Robyn. I do hope you have signed up for the naming ceremony. It is a wonderful way to get to know the kindred better. And, yup, Robyn will make you your very own blinkie!:D

That's right - I am a blinkie makin' machine! ROFL! And what is this about hijacking threads! I NEVER!

Well, as for hijacking, if the thumb fits, suck it. I would have come back with a more mature response (a la pithy riposte) if I could remember anything from Even Cowgirls Get the Blues but my mid term memory seems to have gotten dried up and loofah like.

I am now reminded of a k.d. lang song:

Pulling back the reins
Trying to remain
Tall in the saddle...

That's for you, Robyn! Stay tall in the saddle as we continue to hijack this thread!

Since we're on the topic of country tunes (sort of) I'll just throw in some words of wisdom from a very classy tune:

Save a horse, ride a cowboy!!

I admit it, I'm a nerd. So the question about cookie dough was driving me crazy. Did the research and found out that there's a small chance of contracting salmonella from the raw eggs. The only other cautionary tale was to avoid raw bread dough, because the undigested yeast could rise in the stomach, causing cramping and bloating.

My guess is that mothers invented this tale so that there would be enough dough left to actually bake cookies.

My guess is that mothers invented this tale so that there would be enough dough left to actually bake cookies.

You mean so there would be enough raw cookie dough for THEM to eat, right? No one actually BAKES the cookies, do they? Well, maybe one batch, and then the dad comes home and smells the sweet aroma of fresh-baked cookies but can't find any because all the dough AND the baked cookies (only 10 or 12 between 4 people) were all eaten!

Okay, that's just what happens at my house, I suppose. Maybe I've revealed too much...
