I love quotes, but sometimes it takes to long to find the right one, so I thought why not start a thread in this forum where people write the funny, happy, maybe ownmade quotes. or post their links to great quotes sites.
whatever you like.

I read this one in a book from sabrina ward harrison

"the pain now is part of the happiness then"

I just love that one.

I'm a quote collector. I love Quote Garden (http://www.quotegarden.com) for finding quotes on a variety of subjects.

I just heard a line in the movie "Cake" the other day that I'm thinking of using somehow--it really got me thinking! The main character's best friend said, "You're damaged, get over it and go get him!" (The girl had a tendency to run away from relationships.) I think we all have a tendency to get into pity parties about how screwed up our childhood or whatever was, wallowing in the victim status instead of just moving on. Sometimes it just takes acknowledging "You're damaged" before you can, and then realizing, we're probably ALL damaged, that's life. Anyway...loved that. Had to share!

thanks for sharing becky, yes we are all scared in a good or bad way, but I also believe that that is what we are today, it is part of our life. I never had anything bad happen to me so far. the only thing is I am from a broken home. which is not bad after all. I believe too, that you must not sit in a victim roll but give things happened a place in a closet, close the doors and move on, not that we must forget, we know it is there but we must not open that box every day again, and relive all. we make life as it is, so we better make it good there where we have influance. now I am going to check that quote site.
thanks

Here's a quote that really changed the way I look at other people. I have no idea where it originated; a co-worker shared it with me.

"People don't do things to you; they do things for themselves."

Wow, Donna! Love that! I need to share that one with my DH!

I have Lyrics.com (http://www.lyrics.com) listed in my quotes journal as a good resource.

Here are some quotes I'll share...just whatever moves me as I peruse my quote journal:

"When you get to your wit's end, you'll find God lives there." (unknown)

"A ship in the harbor is safe. But that's not what ships are built for." (anonymous)

"Do not fear death so much, but rather the inadequate life." (Bertolt Brecht)

"Rainbows apologize for angry skies." (Sylvia Voirol)

"A suburban mother's role is to deliver children obstetrically once, and by car forever." (Peter DeVries)

"Sweater, n.: a garment worn by a child when its mother is feeling chilly." (Ambrose Bierce)

"To be overcome by the fragrance of flowers is a delectable form of defeat." (Beverly Nichols)

"Even when freshly washed and relieve of all obvious confections, children tend to be sticky." (Fran Lebowitz)

"Laughter is the sun that drives winter from the human face." (Victor Hugo)
