because it was a long weekend. Time for a bit of a blog. Seems like the evil animated gifs (yes, we are talking to you Chuckie) have won the kingdom and won't let the gentle jpegs come home to roost. Not sure if this is true but I might as well start a rumour. Not something I do IRL but I don't wear a foil hat IRL either. Anything goes at DAQ.

I tried googling and cannot find a reference anywhere to a Rolodex punch except in the smaller format. So be it. I am not reformatting. Alison is following up with Rolodex itself (trust a librarian) but I don't imagine the news will be good given that not a single web store in the land of the free market carries it. Never did manage to transform a single ATC. And no wonder, kind of a lame idea but I thought if I had the "base" it wouldn't take that much to change the format size. Wrong-o. Not to mention boredom. I can't really get myself up for redoing something. Too many new things on the horizon.

I am starting to get used to my notebook but it is still not half as handy as my desktop. I am afraid it will burn out if I don't turn it off so I do (my desktop was on 24/7) and it takes quite a while to do that. I was a geek with my desktop and got it to open in no time flat with only 20 or so running processes (why, you got me since I never turned it off. Pride, I guess). But I didn't keep up with my geekness and this stupid notebook has 46!!!!!!!!! And that is after I got rid of all the obvious ones. I have spent three or four hours trying to get it leaner and meaner but truthfully, so eager to scrap I haven't given it the time it will need to make it work. I miss sitting down and having all my peripherals plugged in and raring to go. But I am persevering. Haven't even tried to master the little mouse panel thing-y.

Had an accident with my image organiser and managed to delete all categorisation from an entire DVD. I figure I will recatalog at the cottage since I won't have internet access.

Wow, I am boring myself. Better I should go cruise the galleries!

Don't stress over the lack of a large Rolodex punch. I have hand cut the holes before and it is not so bad! (no, I will not cut yours for you!) Of course, I have always enjoyed cutting out things anyway. We used to cut out paper dolls when we were kids and I still like to do that.

gald I'm not the only one who enjoys cutting stuff out by hand. I get strange looks at crops when I go for the scissors rather than a punch *sigh*
guess that's one of the the joys of being a quirk ;)

I've always liked cutting and pasting myself. (Well, not myself, that would be creepy. I meant to say: I, too, have always liked cutting and pasting) Cathy, when I was really bored as a child, I would make paper dolls out of the models in the Sears catalog.

Raven, are they letting you use scissors yet?

I too loved to cut out paper dolls as a kid. Now, I am too much of a control freak!! I MUST have them looking spot on! Maybe because the rest of my life (home, work, kids and not in that order) is messy, out of control and "outside of the lines" in this area I am a freak about it! I WILL find the hole punch for the 3x5s if I have to beg Rolodex to make them!!!!! Maybe Kim and I could deluge (sp?) them with emails until they break!!!!! MUST FIND HOLE PUNCH FOR 3x5!!!!!!!
