Some of the prompts on her blog are:
1. Just start
2. Collect and Collage (cut out, keep tags from clothes, etc.)
3. Observe what is going on: listen, look, journal
4. Keep it simple (minimalist, white pages)
5. Use small images, do some journaling
6. Use poetry
7. Go with the flow
8. Use only one color. Pick the color that speaks to you.
9. Use b/w to alter the color
10. Use stamps for texture
11. Use newspaper for texture
12. Use leaves (from trees in your yard) for texture
13. Stick with the one color on your page
14. Use a quote
15. Be daring - what have you dared to do lately?
16. What are you proud of?
17. Use tension - big/little, rough/smooth, messy/sleek
18. Use balance - texture/white space
19. Use your words - use your catch phrases
20. What colors speak to you? Holiday colors - use those.

I just noticed that the art journal pages aren't doing well, so I thought I would restart them. I hoope these suggestions help and I would advise going to her site - it's so well done but the prompts are part of her "art slam" pages.

I've got some pages with white backgrounds that need to "rest"; but I'm hoping to do some of these prompts. I'm also looking forward to seeing some new pages.

Hey! Thanks for the great site, Victoria. I'm sorta stopped on the journal entries because my scanner has the hiccoughs. I've already made two totally digital entries, but I'm waiting for the scanner so I can enter some hybrids.

defunct scanner category. Mine refuses to work with a mac so I need to set it up with my notebook. I will try to get to that some time this weekend. Have we lost the interesting woman who was leading the charge on this?

I'm not sure if FLCindy is still with us; she hasn't posted after week 4 (Feb 9); but I am still doing my journal and even have a list of art journal sites that I check out.

I really love our Thrifty Collage Artists' blog:
http://thriftycollageartist.blogspot.com/

she has 2 tutorials up for creating backgrounds - really great stuff.

And then: http://lostluggage.typepad.com/the_land_of_lost_luggage/
has a week full of journaling tutorials for art journaling.

There's some great stuff out there, folks!

Well my scanner was fine until I loaded XP recently. I've tried to reinstall my printer software, but it tells me an upgrade has been installed and "connect the device". Obviously the device is connected or my printer wouldn't work. DUH. I suppose I need to uninstall and reinstall -- but I'm afraid I'll screw up the printer. Ahhhh technology --- the bane of our existence, and that without which we could not live (we think).
