An ATC idea!

For a long time, I have been thinking about doing a mini-album about all of my boyfriends of the past. But I just never got motivated. But I had this brainstorm today. I could make them all into ATC's! Even put funny hats on them if I want or put a big red X on their faces or ... you get what I'm saying. But here's the fun part - on the back of the ATC instead of putting the artist's information (since I won't be trading them), I would make it more like a baseball card with info like date we met, highlight of the relationship, how it ended, etc.

And as an extension of this idea, I think I am going to make several different 'decks' of ATC's. I may do teachers, favorite relatives, friends, etc. This way, I will be able to remember all of these people and why they were important to me but not have a bunch of big clunky scrapbooks with people who are only important to me. I mean my husband probably wouldn't be amused by a 12x12 scrapbook immortalizing my old boyfriends! LOL! Actually the thought of him reading some of the highlights of my relationships kind of amuses me!!!

I think I will call my series of ATC's "People of MY Past."

Thanks for sharing your awesome idea Robyn! Don't think I'll be making a boyfriend one cuz it wouldn't be much of a 'deck' LOL but I totally love the general idea. You're totally right, we have these people that come and go in our lives that maybe don't stick around for so long and/or don't make their way into our usual scrapbooks but doesn't mean we want to forget about them completely.

Well I've been boy crazy for quite some time and I have pictures of junior high and even one elementary crush. So I believe my deck may be larger than I care to admit! LOL!

Yeah I threw a way all my pictures w/my old boyfriend + the other assorted guys I dated.

The ATC memory deck idea is good - this could be a combo ATC and MAD project. OR maybe we could make it into an altered book and include it in ALTERED. I was thinking if you had ATC's printed and then took a book and altered it and glued the ATCs on the book pages, it would be a cool way to combine altered w/digital. (See my rant in word art about limited storage and display options for scrappers).

I also saw a cool mini project on the Ztampf (http://ztampf.com/ztampfest/main.php?g2_view=core.ShowItem&g2_itemId=777)website where you glue 4x4's on a mini accordian album and embellish it - it would be ideal for a gift or memento. Or maybe make a custom box for an ATC deck...

I'm so lazy about doing hands on stuff and become easily frustrated but I love all those cool little books like you see in Somerset...

I'm with you Debra. With digital ... no muss no fuss! Actually it's more that I have all of the tools I need already digitally. LOL! People speak of gesso and special adhesives and I don't even know what they are talking about. But a simple ATC box or something may be cool. I also like the accordian book. Now I'm going to have to get going on my ATC Memory Cards!

Oh ... and MG ... I think I will have to have a separate deck for all of my fantasy men! Now that deck is one I may carry with me at all times. Any time I get down, I can just shuffle through it and instantly be happy!

Ok, those cards are just too cool! I love this idea! Now I want to pull up my pictures of all my old friends and reminisce about the good ol' times.

I had been thinking of making a deck of ATCs for my 43 quirky things. You know, instead of trying to cram it all on one page. I thought that might be kind of fun too.

Okay...I really love this idea!! About the decks of people and stuff but the past boyfriends things is a bit tricky...I'm still trying to forget some of the bad memories from them not to mention an ex husb...can't even type that for him! All pics of those guys had hit the trashcan to the curb already! lol! I do however, have a few pics of boy 'friends' only...so maybe I'll use those. If I can find them...dh doesn't like to see me with others! lol! But I like the idea of...I'll call it 'favorite' male actors, which I'll probably have to also do some for my favorite female actresses so dh won't worry!

Nice idea on the memory deck. Regarding exes - I threw away any memory of them, not to mention any photographic evidence of their existance. B*(&(*&tards. I don't have teachers either, nor very many old photos at all.

This is sad, I know, but it gave me an idea of future-proofing your idea. You know how people collect old vintage photos now - even if they're not related as family, well if I made up some past memory decks of characters no one will ever be the wiser in the future. :D

I think it has to be the fact that we were just too nice!! I also didn't have a good judge of character until about the year before I met my dh! lol!
