The May ATC challenge will be my first and I'm wondering how to go about making some ATC sleeves to present the Cards in. Any help would be appreciated. Bear in mind though, I'm fairly 'slap dash - well lazy really' when it comes to playing around with paper or card, so PLEASE make it simple and I'll do my best to discipline myself into measuring before I cut. ;)

Ann,
I'm so glad you are joining us in the ATC venture. It's a lot of fun and as you know, here in DAQland, rules are NOT a problem.
For my first ATC, I glittered up a storm and then didn't even know about sleeves, so I sent my ATCs in an envelope unsleeved. PamPie can attest that she had glitter all over the place for days when she took my ATC out of the envelope. See, I didn't even know about sleeves in those days.
Have fun! Since I don't know where you live (I'm guessing UK since you are "Yorkshire") I'm not sure you have a Wal-Mart. If so, they have ATC sleeves; if not, just send it on.

The plastic sleeves are nice for protecting your art - Judy (Pixeldigger) also lives in UK and might have an idea where they can be purchased (they are cheap in the US - also known as penny sleeves, since they are about 1 cent each!).
Maya's ATC kit (http://www.digitalartquirks.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7&products_id=2), found in the QuirkyMart might help. I found some translucent ones online: Scrapz (http://www.scrapz.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=30_123&products_id=368) and a template at Crafty Krafts (http://craftykrafts.co.uk/catalog.php?item=398&catid=62&ret=catalog.php%3Fcategory%3D62).
Or you could try your hand at creating your own template!
Or maybe someone else here will speak up with their ideas (can anyone help Ann out?) :D

Do they have sport trading cards in your part of the world? Here, those shops that carry baseball or football trading cards carry the sleeves.

I've had a shop around and there seems to be a distinct shortage of ATC single sleeves for sending through the post here, though I can easily buy the ATC multi sleeves used to store/display the cards in a ring bind file.
My local craft shop, however, does sell clear polythene zip bags of the right size and also pretty little envelopes. So problem solved.
Many thanks for all your suggestions.

Yaaay I've found some ATC swap sleeves at last on the net. So my presentation for next month's challenge should be a bit more professional.

We had a collectors' fair here, so I bought 500. They are NOT easy to come by in the UK. My first batch were bought on a trip to USA

Would either of you two like me to send some across the pond next time I send cards?

Pam,
Where in "The Mile High City" would one find these ATC sleeves?

I buy mine at a sports trading card shop - a packet of 100 is about $1! Some people call them penny-sleeves.
I know you are in the Westminster area - a part of town I'm not super-familiar with - maybe there are sports card shops around your area? Target also has a variation in the Pokemon section.
Hope that helps!

How do you know where I live!? :)
Yes, I have seen a trading card/hobby store in Westminster. I think I'll haul my son in there with me next time we drive by. Glad to know that they are so inexpensive!

Hee hee - the email you sent (I replied!) was a good clue!
