ATC Mail Swap June 2008: Through the Doorway

Now that there are various pairs of undies traveling worldwide, it's time to introduce a new theme - this one may not be as lacy or sexy, but you never know! Through the Doorway is the theme for June - what do we see when we peek through your door frame? Something mysterious, or whimsical, or modern, or downright strange? This theme is 'open' to many possibilities!

If you want to play this month, send me an email (pkeflin@hotmail.com)with the subject: JUNE ATC SWAP. Please include your name, mailing address and email address (for you veterans, just reply to this thread saying you're participating...I have your info...unless it's changed). You have until midnight Eastern on JUNE 7th to sign up. On the 8th everyone who has registered will receive a list of all the other artists with whom they will be trading. You will then have until JUNE 30th (um, or later!) to create, print, and mail your artist trading cards to the other participants. (Keep postal rates in mind before you sign up as you are responsible for mailing the cards yourself. If we have enough participants in a particular country, we can group them together, otherwise it will be an international endeavor.) Each swap group will have no more than...um...we don't know the upper limit yet! LOL! We like big groups and have been hovering around 8-10 participants each month. You may create one ATC based on the theme and replicate it for everyone or you may create unique ATCs to send out. You may also use any combination of paper and digital you like for this swap.

I hope I am not out of line but would like to ask if it would be possible for "swappers" to occasionally post their ATC's and hybrids from other challenges so that the lazy ones amongst us can see the fruit of their labours. Not current swaps, of course, because I realise that would take away the surprise and "wow" factors of the recipients.
It is sad to see Quirks stagnating. Many wonderful posters have moved on. The weekly challenges are attracting only the faithful few and the numbers are dwindling even further. The front page at Quirks often remains the same for days. The old posting for posting's sake seems to have disappeared. The "buzz" of yesteryear has, sadly, tapered off into a soundless ripple. Super-talented people stop by for a while and then disappear. Sad but true.

Elsewise, I'm inclined to agree with Marie in concern for lack of participation at quirks lately. We've lost lots of good quirksters. Where have they all gone?

and probably next month too. I have thirty days to finish the renovation and move this month. We will be in the new old place for two weeks before we head out for our annual two week vacation so I suspect I am going to be a complete and total wreck. Sigh.

I will try to remember to post my ATCs. I do have an album for them in the gallery here. I confess I don't always track the credits so I don't post them. Me bad. I will try to remember (operative word: try).

Yes please count me in - Pam I just read your message and I am AOK - I am definitely around but I was on hols last month (vacation) and I know I haven't been here as often as I would like recently. I haven't deserted Quirkland though, couldn't do that, I really enjoy hanging out with the Quirks :)

This is my first one, Pam, and for some demented reason I decided I'd do them on polymer clay, so first I had to make clay inchies and then decorate them! I really can't see the fascination with them,--feel as if I need a magnifying glass to work on them! How about you?

Judith, I'm so sorry you're having a hard time with the fibromyalgia. It is nasty stuff. I had a friend who used to say, when anyone was having a hard time, that she was imaging them surrounded in white light and it was healing.....so I'm sending white light your way!

Okay Ladies! First of all I apologize for the tardiness of my reply here. I have been busy moving which means . . . well, I've been too busy to even get online for all my Thank You's and also been too busy to even organize my mail. I hate to admit it but some of the cards I received in the mail within the last week ended up in a box that I will need to go through.
