ATC Mail Swap July 2008: The Glitterati

The answer is YES!! Shame on me for not posting prior to today - my apologies :o

The idea for this theme comes from Judy's list of suggestions (I am hoping she's well enough to participate!). Glitterati - what does that mean?! Here are a couple of definitions from dictionaries: wealthy or famous people who conspicuously or ostentatiously attend fashionable events; rich, famous and fashionable people whose activities are of interest to the public and are written about in some newspapers and magazines; famous, rich, or fashionable people thought of as a group, especially those who are frequently photographed by the media. I guess that would mean people like Paris Hilton, but I'd be okay if she were not included on any of our cards - LOL! But your cards don't have to be about today's celebs - perhaps you might create fictional ones or future ones or, or?! It's up to you! Have fun :cool:

If you want to play this month, send me an email (pkeflin@hotmail.com)with the subject: JULY ATC SWAP. Please include your name, mailing address and email address (for you veterans, just reply to this thread saying you're participating...I have your info...unless it's changed). You have until midnight Eastern on JULY 11th to sign up. On the 12th everyone who has registered will receive a list of all the other artists with whom they will be trading. You will then have until JULY 31st (um, or later!) to create, print, and mail your artist trading cards to the other participants. (Keep postal rates in mind before you sign up as you are responsible for mailing the cards yourself. If we have enough participants in a particular country, we can group them together, otherwise it will be an international endeavor.) Each swap group will have no more than...um...we don't know the upper limit yet! LOL! We like big groups and have been hovering around 8-10 participants each month. You may create one ATC based on the theme and replicate it for everyone or you may create unique ATCs to send out. You may also use any combination of paper and digital you like for this swap.
If anyone has any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. We do have a lot of information about Artist Trading Cards (http://www.digitalartquirks.com/articles/article_atc_becky_march2006.htm) in an ARTicle in our Resource section that might answer any questions you have.

Wow! I didn't realize you could get that solid of effect. Must put that idea on the "must try" list. You are enable me...lol...not good for my pocketbook :D

Yup, you put on the embossing ink, sprinkle the powder, shake off the excess, then heat with heat gun until it changes appearance. I prefer regular colors more than glitter though - they have a slick finish to them ;)
