Let's play with lighting this week using LauraKaye's tutorial (http://www.afterfivedesigns.com/blog/2009/03/saturdays-tips-and-tricks/) on the AfterFive blog. It's an easy technique that can give you dramatic results. Have fun bringing sunlight to your pages.

Note: Because we're working in many different versions of Photoshop and Elements, your program may vary from the one in the tutorial. If you run into a wall, just post and we'll work through it together.

I used to use this all the time, before I started digi scrapping, but stopped as I was told it was a 'cheap' and 'tacky' trick for digi art, LOL. It does look great on layouts though, I have to admit.

Who says cheap and tacky (http://www.digitalartquirks.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=6450&cat=576)?! It changed this from an ordinary piece to something with a point of interest and I had fun. AND let's all applaud. Bev got through a tech challenge without whining and carrying on !!

Hey, cheap and tacky were not my words, I was merely quoting them :p Great piece though.

BTW, shouldn't it be palette? Palate is your taste buds

My comment was for the anonymous "they" who told you it was cheap and tacky. And - thanks for the tip on the spelling. I'm mortified! I was a medical transcriptionist for 30 years, and occasionally it just creeps in. I once wrote to someone that I had gone boweling with friends!!

Bev, I was a legal secretary for 18 years and, sometimes, my fingers just type weird things. I swear they have a mind of their own.
