You all know what a big fan I am of Nick Bantock and mailart. Would any of you be interested in doing a postcard swap? Simply design a pretty front and a practical backside, print them off, and add a stamp. Here are the regs if you're interested, http://www.overnightprints.com/main.php?A=USPS.
Since we're heading into vacation time, let's make this a summer-long project. Sign up by the end of June, and mail your card by the end of July. PM me your address if you want to play.

LOL! Donna!
I'm just imagining a practical backside!!! I'm sure Ann could do a great card based on that idea alone!!! Anyway, i'd like to join in this one as I should have got my printer sorted out by then (hope springs eternal). Looking at the complex regulations, I'm concerned that the envelopes that I sent my magnets out in may have been too small and may have not been delivered...

LOL, Lumi.
I just received your lovely magnet, so at least one made it through. :-) Thanks so much. If you'd added a star, you could have used it for this week's Quirkle.
I think the post office tends to look the other way on personal mail. It's the bulk mailers that they crack down on.

Oh Donna, I would love it! I absolutely LOVE all the ATCs I received in the April swap, and I'm dying to see what everyone would come up with in a postcard. This sounds like great fun! count me in!

Our newest member, Wild Goose, asked me how the postcard swap would work, so here are a few more details.
I'll be collecting P.O. addresses from participants through the end of the month, and then I'll PM them to all those who are playing.
You'll have into the end of July to mail your cards to all the participants. Because it's summer, this will probably be a small group, maybe 6-10 participants.
You can choose any postcard size that works for you (I'm doing 7"x5"). Create your art and print your design on the front and all of the practical stuff on the back. You can use one design for all the cards or different designs for each card. While many of our swaps have themes, this one does not. It's all up to you. Be sure to include your name and username on the back of the card so that we'll know whose card is whose.

It's hard to believe, but July is here already. I'm waiting on just one address, so I should have the mailing list out today or tomorrow.
If anyone else would like to participate, please let me know by the end of the day. It's going to be so much fun.

Victoria- Glad you like the postcard! If you only knew how lucky you are--OK, I'll tell you! Last Wednesday I received a letter from the post office. Inside was your postcard, or shall I say, the remnants of your postcard. It was in about 7 little torn and tattered pieces! There was also a nice letter from the post office telling me that they are 99.7% reliable in their mail delivery, but on occasion "accidents do happen". Thank goodness I made a few extra cards, so I had another to send you! :) Oh, and here's the kicker, they made sure they sent back the piece with the stamp on it.....and of course, the stamp was cancelled! :)

Well, now I know I am truely blessed. Had you not received my tattered and torn postcard back from the postoffice, I would not now have the fantastic postcard that I have now. WOW!!! Thanks for letting me know how special my postcard is. I'm going to keep them (this one is my first so it's doubly special) in a special place and show them off to everyone who even says - what's that???...
Thanks for letting me know about my postcard's special journey.

Victoria and Evelyn-
Your two very different cards came today, Thank-you both!
Don't want to spoil until everyone's got theirs...but I think I can safely say one thing they have in common is some writing on the front; one more than the other!
Victoria...ah!
If only all "containers" were like the one you depict...noses would be eternally greatful!
Evelyn-...The gently coloured pictures are an "exotic" match to the words!
There...no more hints,eh?
Sounds like I"ve said enough!
Thanks, again!
Chris/WildGoose
Mailing mine off tomorrow, and I"m not sayin' nuffin''bout 'em,pardners!
Cheers to All!

Donna/Ky girl-
Newbie Question:
Is there a reveal on August 1st,,,or do we wait until everyone's got theirs?
( I"ll be more the late-comer, so hope not-for other's sake )
And do we upload to this thread or some kind of Gallery for the thread?
Regards,
Chris/WildGoose

Chris, I thought I answered this the day you posted. I don't know what happened. I'm sorry for not getting back to you sooner.
I love the idea of a reveal day. Why don't we all post our cards on Saturday? That's the first.
Thanks, Victoria. You should have seen me at the post office with all of my envelopes and cards going around the world. It took forever. I know the people waiting in line were mumbling. :-)

I am so disappointed. I went to upload my postcard to the gallery, but I can't find it anywhere. I thought I had saved it before my computer crashed, but evidently I didn't. Thank goodness, I printed them.
Victoria, thanks for your lovely bathtub of flowers. Makes me want to dig out some bubbles and go soak. :-)
Ann, your postcard looks like something you would find in a museum gift shop -- so provocative and edgy.
Evelyn, I loved the poem and the lovely illustration. Gorgeous work.
Judy, how lucky you are to live near such a gorgeous spot. It's just beautiful, and so is the card.
I want to thank you all for joining in our first ever postcard swap. If you'd like to host a future postcard swap, or any other kind of swap for that matter, just post away. I love our digital work, but there's something so rewarding about getting mail.

Donna/Ky Girl-
Your card with the close-up of one very winsome looking little girl came today...sparkling!
Thank-you!
About not posting-
If I scanned mine and posted it on my blog, would that be an easy way for you to then save it to your desktop and upload it here?
Will check back in a day or two,
