Hope you all enjoy week 1 of our new Altered works of Art challenge.

Whilst looking at various artist's work I was quite taken with the little figure in Henri Rousseau's (Woman walking in an exotic forest),so I thought I would make this the first challenge.

Here is the link to view the image:

Thanks for the great challenge, Peppa! I didn't manage to come to grips with the artist's stylised painting but I guess that what altered art is all about!

I wrestled with this for a bit, Jayne. I guess that's why they're called challenges. Anyway, here (http://www.digitalartquirks.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=6962&cat=582) is what I came up with.

Hi peppapig and everyone,

Wet Canvas' Classical Forum is studying/encouraging emulation of Naive Art- with examples from none other than our man Rousseau as a 2 week
mini-project...will be linking them to the display page in Galleries..

Although they do mostly "hands-on' type artwork, I think they'll find the Quirk's work here enjoyable!

Here's a link to their entries and much back-ground info-again via links- to Rousseau:

Cheers,

before I figured out what I wanted to do with this one. I have played with this artist before so I wanted to do something different. I decided to focus on his colour and scale and the subject rather than try to directly copy his style.
