"This week, we take altered art to the Post Office. I was introduced to “postage stamp people art” through a blog challenge earlier this year. The idea is to find a suitable stamp which features the face of a person, famous or otherwise, and using it as a “starter”, adding a body to the head while still preserving all or most of the stamp. In other words, the stamp and body morph to make one image. Postmarks are added to the stamp to enhance the mail flavour.

I have only noticed recently that there is an optional side bar on Google Images (click on “hide” or “show”) which gives choices for size, colour, photo or clipart etc. For postage stamps showing faces, type in “Postage stamp pictures” and then go to the side bar and click on “large” and “face” and some great stamps will appear.

Of course, another way of approaching the theme could be designing your own stamp to use in the process.

I am including two links that may interest you .... these are the first postage people attempts of Bev and yours truly:

Upload your picture in to the Artist’s Studio gallery and link it to the this thread.

This is such a fun challenge. I love to fool around and make postage stamps. They make such a cute addition alongside real stamps on mail. I did 3, and I've posted 2 of them. Here (http://www.digitalartquirks.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=6999&cat=578) is my Toulouse Lautrec stamp guy, and
here (http://www.digitalartquirks.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=6998&limit=last7) is my John Wayne.

Limar --
Click on the round blue "thingie" above. Line appears at top of page saying (among other things) "click here to allow scripted windows". Click there and window appears saying "Temporary something or other. Click there. Now click again on the round blue thingie and a line appears for you to enter your URL. Then click OK. Is that clear as mud?!?! Hope it helps.

Loved doing this one Marie.

Here's my Miss Mona Mail (apologies Jayne, I didn't see yours until I'd done mine, but they are so different I didn't think you'd mind too much).

In order to spread the DAQ challenges out through the week, we're moving the Studio Challenge to Thursdays. Look for an all-new challenge tomorrow.
