The challenge this week is to design a Gothic Arch. For examples check out http://www.art-e-zine.co.uk/Belgothic.html - for templates check out the five different types at http://inkstainswithroni.blogspot.com/2009/09/gothic-arch-templatespatterns.html
I belong to a Gothic Arch group and it seems there are no hard and fast rules. The shapes only need to be arched in some way and can be found in window frame elements in your stashes.
The examples from Art-e-zine are mixed media pages of a Gothic Arch book but digital arches are fun and habit forming (like Donna's torso tags).
Choose your own theme by thinking of one word which means something to you (eg cherish, trust, love, dance, etc) and include that one word in your arch.
Above all, have some fun. My sample picture is here: http://www.digitalartquirks.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=7165&limit=recent

and a quick response to the comments on Frida: Yes, Bev, I did do this for both Frameworthy and the Arch challenge. I am trying a lot these days to do two-fors if I can! Not that the challenges aren't challenging enough in the first darn place! But just because I am forced to try to multi task. I concur with your dislike of Frida (and said what I have to say about that in the Frameworthy gallery) but I do have to say that I did read her saying that she put herself in all her paintings because she knew herself better than anyone else. I find that explanation only adds to my dislike but thought I should share it anyway.
Marie, I am unhappy because I am a classicist and I like my triptychs to have three distinct panels and this one is just one large unholy mess of chaos. I did start off having flowers in one panel, Frida in the centre and vines in the other panel but I was getting so fretted with Frida I gave up. So I want to give it another go this weekend (and how did it come to be quarter to three on Saturday already?)
Now, I have to get into the gallery and enjoy while my coffee is still hot! One thing about cyber galleries is you can get as close as you want and you can bring beverages in with you! Gotta love that! :D

Well I have tried three times now to upload my entry in the galleries with no luck :( If you want to see it you can find it on my blog here (http://aseparatenote.blogspot.com/2009/12/daq-gothic-arches.html) (hope that link works :/ ) Sorry :)
Limar,
I edited your note so people can go to your blog and see your arch. Have you reduced the size of your file? Sometimes if the file is too large (over 150kb) it will not upload to the gallery.

Yup, your link worked for the gallery. And you are very welcome, thanks for the link to your blog. (Did you see that we have a thread for DAQ blogs? You might want to post your blog in that thread, too.)
