Those of us who are not really sure how to approach an ART JOURNAL page would be helped greatly to see examples from more experienced artists. I know such pages are very personal and everyone has her own ideas. I have seen the most beautiful, artistic pages which have very little journaling and other pages which have more journaling than “art”, and, of course, there are those in between.

It’s that time of the year when most people have very few opportunities for creating art but perhaps, over the following week, those of you who are experienced art journalists could post (in the ARTIST’S STUDIO CHALLENGE GALLERY) one of your pages and those of us who are newbies to the art can tag along and attempt to come up with something worthwhile.

This is an opportunity to show us how it is done by seeing existing work (or new if preferred) without having to spend more than a little time during such a busy holiday period

Any theme and all styles most welcome.

The challenge opens on Thursday, December 24 and runs to Wednesday, December 30. Post in the Artist's Studio Challenge Gallery.

Oh, Marie, posting one of my journal pages is like sending my child to the first day of kindergarten, but here's my last journal page.....not necessarily representative of them all, just what struck my fancy that particular day!

Be gentle! (http://www.digitalartquirks.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=7234&cat=578)

of first day in kindergarten. Mine left me on the doorstep, dropping my hand and telling me firmly that he would see me after school. The teacher, taking pity on me, told me it was all right if I came in for a bit. I respected Max's wishes and left him to his own devices. Your journal entry is doing quite well!

Bev, I love your quirky journal page. Please don't apologize. I have no idea what I am doing, never having created a journal page in my life.
My journaling is about growing old. Here it is:

This is one of the first art journal pages that I ever did, http://www.digitalartquirks.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=2308&page=0. Now that I know more about using Photoshop, I'd like to do it over.

Here's one I did some time back. It's about a very personal experience

Thanks Lumi! We are gradually collecting some art journal pages to inspire us and the thing that comes across (as it should) is how every one has its own style with no two even vaguely familiar. I guess this means we take from the inspirational pieces ideas and feelings to carry on into our own work.

Challenging but enjoyable challenge Marie

Here's one more page: The gift I would give myself for January and all year and for everyone else.

Once it goes public I see all the boo-boos and things I could tighten up or loosen down. It strikes me funny that people think digital art is quick and easy. Hah. I use PS CS2 which seems to be okay for now. I used all my own photos and native fonts. The rest is done with manipulation of blends and gradations and so forth.

I am tired. That's it for now.
