The theme for our April Artist's Studio Challenge is Shabby Chic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shabby_chic). You're all familiar with the decorating style, a form of interior design (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interior_design) where furniture and furnishings (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Furnishing) are either chosen for their age and signs of wear and tear or new items are distressed (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Distressing) to achieve the appearance of an antique.
You can get that same effect in your digital art using vintage ephemera, shabby elements, and layering. Check out Elaine Brady Smith (http://www.elainebradysmith.com/index.html) and the Art E-Zine Shabby Chic Page (http://www.art-e-zine.co.uk/shabbychic.html) for inspiration.
Your work can be any size or format. If you want to think outside of the box, I'd love to see home decor items, jewelry, or clothing designed in the Shabby Chic style using your computer.
