...your work on CafePress.com?

If so, what do you think?

I've got one design on there (an anti-war one), so far no takers, but I haven't advertised or pushed it at all either, so I'm probably lost in the crowd LOL I mainly just did it because I wanted one for myself and when an IRL friend saw it she wanted one too.

Thanks for the info, Lisa. I might try it. I'm working on some new paper designs that I'm really happy with but not really interested in doing the whole digi kit thing. Already enough out there. I have had some people indicate an interest in purchasing some things so I am considering it. We'll see...just thinking about it for now.

Thanks again for your input!

Juli

I'm glad you asked this question. I've had some quirk designs on the back burner wondering if there would be any interest from the Quirksters. Maya (DAQ owner) has given the Quirk Crew permission to pursue a Cafe Press store for DAQ...it's just, like I said, on the back burner--time/energy...all that. Seems like a pretty simple process to set up, though. Just need to quit procrastinating.

It is really simple, it didn't take me long at all. The only thing is, if you use the free shop you can basically only use one design because you can only put one design on each item. So, if you want to do multiple designs and have them on all the items you have to do a pay shop. That's pretty cheap, but I didn't know that until I set mine up, so I thought I'd let ya know :) And, by the way, I would love it if DAQ did one! I'd buy :)

Okay, I've been working on setting up the store. I was able to use multiple images with the basic, free shop, but yes, only one of each product is allowed, so you can only have one design for it. I have several images created so far, but right now I am having to choose which items get which designs. If this goes anywhere, and there is enough volume to warrant it, we'll upgrade so we can have multiple images for products. Michelle and I were also thinking about having DAQ sponsor quirk design contests. Winning images would be used to create the product of the winner's choice. They would receive a copy of that product free, and the item would be available to other quirks to buy...interesting concept? I thought you'd think so.

So, stay tuned...I just all of a sudden got excited about this today. I'm waiting for Maya's input, and we'll see where it goes.

Maya thought the store looked great, so here you go!

Your own QuirkMart (http://www.cafepress.com/quirkmart)!

All artwork is from Maya's store, Scrapbookgraphics, used with permission. She promises to design something exclusive for QuirkMart, too.

If we do have design contests, everything you submit would have to be original art, so we don't violate copyright.

Enjoy your quirky shopping experience! Let us know what you buy!

Great - here are a couple of quirky font sites that allow commercial use:

http://www.misprintedtype.com
http://www.typo5.com/
http://www.haroldsfonts.com

Would we be allowed to use Maya's stuff in the designs since it's here shop?

Hey, Juli, I don't know if CafePress is set up to sell digital downloads - I thiink all they do is sell products w/your image imprinted on them - I have seen a few people that sell directly off their blog, however. I think Paypal allows you to do this kind of setup.

www.ashscraps.typepad.com - I bought some stuff directly from her blog so she could fill you in on the details. It was really easy and if you only have a couple of products its probably a great option. Everybody uses paypal anyway.

Probably. Depends on the contest. We may have some where we allow that, and others where it HAS to be your own original stuff.

Becky are there any plans to create a Cafe Press design from the "I dream in digital" girl on the home page? I really like that one and would ask Santa for a T-shirt or a mug for Christmas if it was available!:D

Kate, I'll ask Maya for a high res version of it and see if I can get something up there in the next few days. Will pop in here to let you know when it's up!
