She is amazing. But what amazes me more than anything is all the cooking utensils she is finding. How many "found pans" can there be out there? If she ever gets tired of the artistic life, scavenging bodes well for her! My favourite has to be the napkin pinned to the towel rack. This woman is definitely my kind of Martha Stewart!

This lady is cool!!! I wonder how she gets those images on pot lids. This is a great artform for those of us who can't cook. I couldn't find anywhere on the site where she said how she does it. :(

Hi guys-- just a quickie reply since I'm at work.

Debra, you were wondering how this woman got the images on the pot lids...it's all through image transfering techniques. I posted another link here the other day that shows several different techniques. My guess is that she just removed the handle to the pot lid and then used a transfer medium. check out the other link and I think you'll find all the info you need. I was particularly interested because she's transfering to metal and that's something I've been dying to try. Just Google: Image Transfer and there's lots of info.

Ok, gotta go.

Later,

Juli

These lids and pans are awesome!!!! I thought at first glance that the lids were cd's. Must go to the salvation army to find more goodies to add to my heap of "someday projects!" Of course hanging pan lids on my walls my husband equated with hanging license plates on the side of a barn...must help him see the bigger picture. Riiiiiiight.:p

Thanks, Juli - image transfer sounds kind of intimidating (esp for a lazy digigal like me) but I love the idea of recycling junk.

Kim - don't you guys have thrift shops in Canada? That's where you can find tons of grungy old cookware.

yes, of course we have thrift shops. Is that what she means by "found"? I thought it meant she found it, you know, out on the streets. If she is BUYING them, I am no longer in awe. I thought she had some drop dead homing instinct for cookery.

Hahahahha! Kim, that conjurs up some funny images - scouring ditches, old abandoned homesteads, fields with hounddog and metal detecter.

Usually around here, "found" just means someone else's castoffs, often unearthed at thrift stores, yard sales , flea markets, etc. and given a new home.

Well actually there's good ole trash pickin'. My old housemate (an artist) furnished a great deal of her house this way, and quite tastefully I might add. All you do is run around on trash day and pick through all the goodies left out for the trashman.
