I can't find the thread re the horrible experience your husband and daughter had, made me so darn mad I didn't reply right away and now it is lost.
I am really mad. Very glad they are okay. I CANNOT believe 911 asked you to call back. Hello flipping hello.
Sending you a cyber hot bath (very hot) with a good novel and your beverage of choice. I know what I would like to send your city's emergency dispatch but I won't bother typing it out.

Yes, the hot bath was in order and an adult beverage!! Thanks Kim! Things are getting back to normal but I have alerted our local neighborhood council and they are really great! The next meeting is Jan 2 where they will talk about what happened and what we as a neighborhood can do! I keep seeing news reports about crime on the rise, especially in teenagers who can get guns so easliy here (that really makes me mad too!). Anyway, thanks for all of the nice replies! Did you finish all of your shopping? I am working on a few craft projects for various family members. I won't finish them of course and will wrap them in a box to be finished something in '07! They are all used to these kind of presents by now!

Hopefully the neighbourhood council can kick a little butt! They should, at a minimum, write a letter to 911. If no reasonable response is forthcoming, suggest the cc the local newspaper.
Got all my shopping done in two trips and the red ink for my printer has arrived. Have a trip to Staples for Max's stocking (some decent pencil crayons, post its and all the stuff he is crazy about) but that is it. Will do my layouts for framing this weekend. Pulled the whole thing out of a hat. Work is screaming but I am now at the shrug stage. Have just written a letter to Student Council telling them if more volunteers don't show up in January, I resign as chairman and from the Council. Alison, I am tired to the marrow of my bone. I don't mind working hard, in fact, relish it but am tired of free loaders and inconsiderate turnips. My motto for 2007 is turnips should be cooked, not catered to. Wow, if I am this crabby at 46 can't WAIT to see what I am like at 56!

As my little cousin used to say, "SAME!!" My 2 of my co-workers have decided to take this week and next week off. I will be taking care of the patrons solo which wouldn't be so bad if we didn't have many people using the library! Unfortunately everyone wants to waste time this week so they all show up wanting personal help (meanwhile I have 2 teaching projects that have been neglected and will continue to be until 2007)! Is the council that you are referring to your kid's one or University??? Are you in charge of that too??!! My God you are brave! I did many years of work with the school my girls attended and it seemed like the same few people helped out with EVERYTHING! I gave up in the end! I think your motto for 2007 sounds grand! It sounds like an ATC project to me or perhaps a poster that you could put up on your desk!! Your not crabby your just over worked!! I hope you get some time off for the holiday!!!!

You must post a picture of that poster if you make it Kim! That is priceless! It seems like overwhelmedness (is that a word LOL?) is going around these days - I'm right there with ya. But, mercifully, I'm taking next week off, so that should help things along a bit :) I'm traveling for most of it to see my family, but just not dealing with people's problems and legal issues for a bit will be nice. Hope you guys get a break too!
