hehehe...

I have a lot to catch up on in the gallery!!
Did everyone have a good weekend? Did you do anything artful or creative? NSD parties? Cocktail parties? What did you do? :D

I'm itching to create something just for fun, but I have several "must do" things on my list before I can play. Plus, my mom is coming by this morning, so I think I ought to get up and do some Monday morning cleaning before she gets here. blah.

I went to a couple of chats at Designer Digitals and picked up the free kit at ScrapArtist--plus did some shopping for some quirky elements. So, it was a fruitful NSD for me. I created one ATC this weekend and that's about it. Did take my youngest to see R.V.--which was okay--I don't think he got a lot of the humor, but he did enjoy the slapstick stuff. DH and I had a nice dinner out at our favorite Mexican restaurant Saturday. I watched the first two episodes of Lost from Season 1. A pretty normal weekend, I guess. I really like the peace and quiet of Monday mornings though, when it's just me at home! LOL!

I missed doing anything creative this weekend too. but we did have two troubled teens in our home for the weekend, so I had plenty to keep me occupied. They are great kids who are in a tough spot. YOu know, life is just plain hard.

I plan to make something interesting to look at today. I was going to say pretty, but stuff doesn't always need to be pretty to be interesting. So, I'll finish catching up on all the chat and then get busy creating.

I went insane on NSD and bought way too much stuff (um, over 1.6 gigs. yeah. insane). I spent yesterday organizing. I really want to do a lot more creative work today, if the kiddos allow it.

I'm excited that I moved on in the Ultimate contest. My goal was just to survive the first week, and as I now have a *severe* aversion to competitive scrapbooking, I think I'm just going to spread the gospel of Quirk for week 2. I wimped out for my first week and did the ol' linear gig, and I really hated my layout. I'm realizing more and more that I am so drawn to this site and all the artwork here that I don't even know if I'll ever truly get back to "traditional" scrapbooking.

I've got a couple of ATCs taking up space in my brain, I hope to be able to let them out today.

Congrats Amy! As for me, I bought a bunch of stuff at the NSD sales too, but didn't get much of anything created. Just needed a bit of a down weekend and I had a lot of IRL shopping to do too - we were dangerously low on groceries LOL So, hopefully this week I can play with some of my new purchases!

I completely avoided NSD - aren't I bad? Especially as I'm a commercial designer - LOL

Congratz Amy - woohoo! I'm happy for you.

A friend of mine missed out, and I'm really sad for her as she never seems to make the cut and her stuff is as good as anyone elses. Oh well.

I spent most of the weekend, redecorating my bedroom. We had painted the walls this almost cranberry red and Friday new furniture was delivered. I smell "change in the wind", as my walls in the bedroom have been off-white for 15 years! I have been purging my closets and throwing away or packing things up for the thrift store. Got a lot done but so much more to do. When did I get all of this "stuff"? Pics of my bedroom re-do on my blog here if you want to look.

I had 3 friends who didn't make the cut, including one who is on my design team. I thought all the layouts were so good - I'm glad not to be one of the judges.

Does anybody else here play video games? We're renting one right now for xbox 360 that is pretty fun, and very quirky.

I spent almost the whole weekend over at the ACOT online crop. Completed 13 layouts, played bingo, had a blast. Ended up winning $25 worth of digital kits. (That's $7.50 a day for my time.) I don't think scrapping will ever make me rich.

Donna, I am LMBO (laughing my bootie off) over your last statement. I had to read it aloud to my hubby. So true! I'd be scared to even out what I make. I'm sure it would be pennies a day. :p

I hear you - I sold one of my kits for $5.00 and was excited and yet, it was so much more than $5.00 worth of labour and hours - can you imagine if you sold kits and included your time? LOL

Cranberry Red walls sounds wondeful! Going to check your blog right now - oh, I'm loving those walls

Oh, cranberry red walls are the BEST, so rich! Can someone tell me what an NSD is? I'm acronym challenged.

So I'm trying to come up with it on my own. Could it be New Scrap Dog, Nuns Scrapping Dogs, or maybe Need Scrappers Delights?????

I feel weird using all the "pretty" stuff to make quirky stuff. Does anybody else feel like that? But I love the irony of making pretty look like trash. And vice versa. It's a conundrum. Or I'm a conundrum? Anybody? Bueller?

Anybody? Bueller?

I'm silently LOL because it's almost 3 am here and dh is asleep!! :D

I wish I could answer your og. question but I don't know what conundrum means! :o

Just an update on my earnings. ACOT sent me another $15 in kits today, so my total earnings for the crop are now up to $13.33 a day! Of course, you still can't buy groceries with that.
