I ran across this quote today on the Inspire Me Thursday blog and had to share. I've heard so many of you Quirks say the same thing, using different words.

"Art is the only way to run away without leaving home." - Twyla Tharp

Any other art quotes you'd like to share?

Ooo that's a terrific quote, Donna! I've often heard the same thing said of books :) Both certainly are a wonderful way to travel!

I cheat...I go to Quote Garden for ART Quotes (http://www.quotegarden.com/art.html)

But here's a favorite:

Life beats down and crushes the soul and art reminds you that you have one. ~Stella Adler

Meg B. used that wonderful quote on her magnet in the first magnet swap.

All art requires courage. -Anne Tucker

I am afraid to begin, get lost in the madness of creating and question the results.

Becky's art quotes site is interesting, but I take issue with the chap who says that buttocks are non functioning. Apart from being erogenous zones, it would be very uncomfortable to sit down without our twin pillows. They also act as a useful fat store.

LOL Judith, you're right! And he is oh so wrong...but maybe from a male perspective...I mean my poor DH practically has no buttocks! It just looks like his legs keep going! LOL! Teeny tiny muscles in there I can grab with my small hands, no fat whatsoever...LOL...okay too much information!

Baahahahhhahha Judith! OMGoodness, you're cracking me up! Bridget Jones boss says he likes butts you can park a bike in. Mine...Look ma! Serving tea with no hands!

OMy, this could get bad for us visually-oriented folk!

Oh, ladies, how quickly a thread can disintegrate!

But, did any of you see the King of the Hill episode where Hank wore prosthetic butt cheeks because he didn't have a bottom? Hilarious. So see, you're right, we need that little bit of extra fat.

Gee, I would post here --- but I'm afraid I'd be the butt of the joke ...... ahem.

LOL We'll forgive you for the pun since we're in the Wordcraft forum.

A few more quotes to think about:

Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep. ::: Scott Adams (http://www.artquotes.net/masters/scott-adams/quotes.htm) :::

There's no retirement for an artist, it's your way of living so there's no end to it. ::: Henry Moore (http://www.artquotes.net/masters/moore/henry-moore-quotes.htm) :::

Oh, you guys are too much. But now you've awakened a sleeping giant! In my family we're having a challenge to write a country western ditty. Since we're on the subject of derrieres, I just HAVE to share my ditty with y'all!

V1:
I seen you in the feed store
And I like to lost my mind
It just simply left me speechless
When I seen your great behind.

V2:
And when you turned to face me
And I seen them wondrous things
It left my mind a wasteland
Couldn’t think of other things.

Chorus:
Ohhh, how I’d like to love you
From your toes up to your nose
I don’t know what’s above it
It don’t matter, heaven knows.
.... it don't matter, heaven knows.
