For our very first digital share, we've been inspired by Quirk Crew Member happyrobyn's (http://www.digitalartquirks.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=4) recent series of fun ATCs chronicling the Adventures of Space Babe. Robyn took bits and pieces and created an alter ego art doll that could go on the adventures that perhaps Robyn would like to have. Robyn is even expanding the idea to consider that perhaps Space Babe has had a life prior to meeting Robyn; perhaps she's been involved in famous historical events, shaping our culture and our world with her presence.
Robyn's really given us a great start. Check out her gallery (linked above) for her series. Nicole has also started her own Art Doll Adventure which you can see HERE (http://www.digitalartquirks.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=249&cat=500).
And here's my own example (http://www.digitalartquirks.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=251&cat=501) to help you see what we mean.
Now, it's your turn to create your own alter ego art doll and send him or her on some adventures! Can't wait to see where your art dolls go! Make sure you post a link here in this thread so we can keep up on all the fun!

Let the adventures begin! I can't wait to see where our alter egos will take us. Thanks so much for organizing this Becky! And I also wanted to thank Michelle (Mishou) for giving me the idea to send Space Babe on her adventures!

I want to say thank you also for the idea, these dolls can do anything, go anywhere, I am going crazy at it already. BEWARE it is addicting :).
just love this idea. I am making mine on letter format, so I can have them printed and maybe finally bound as a adventure book.

My pleasure Robyn! I took one look at her and knew I HAD to see more of her! She was just too cool! I'm so happy this is catching on because these little adventures are SO fun to watch! Now if only I can be inspired to create my own little foxy adventurer . . .

There's now a LOST (http://www.digitalartquirks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12) subtheme going. I gave myself Kate's body so maybe I will turn that into my art doll. I'm kind of excited about this. Am sizing the canvas 5x7 which is double the size of 2.5 x 3.5 - is that what everyone else does?

You Lost fans are too funny! If you want to start a thread in the ATC forum, please go ahead! Just put DIGITAL SHARE: "Lost" Fans (or whatever) in the subject line and maybe link to the original thread and your samples. Or we can just keep it a sub-theme of this thread. No problem.
I usually size my canvases at 2.5" x 3.5" (300 dpi) when I'm working on them in PSE, and then save them at 286 x 400 pixels (72 dpi) which makes them look about 4 x 5.5.

K I'm going to take the liberty of posting a new thread for the Lost stuff cuz I sense something big happening here and don't want it to get lost in the mix (no pun intented!)

I create mine actual size, 300dpi, for web saving I bring them down to 72 dpi or a little bit more, just that they stay around 115 kb.

Me too ... I create them at 2.5x3.5 and 300dpi. I use my tiny images for ATC's ... ones that would not be suitable for larger layouts.

Okay, this is just too tempting! I must have a doll and some adventures too!
I might get started if this posting contest wasn't keeping me on the computer so much.

Amy, I started my doll body and I have lots of vacation photos to scan. I need to dress my doll, and personalize her before she can start taking trips!

I'm jumping in too - Wilder Woman is taking her first trip!

This is way too much fun LOL! Mine is named (and modeled after) two of my childhood heros - Laura Ingles Wilder (we even have the same birthday LOL) and Wonder Woman. I'm told that in pre-school I would even pretend to be Wonder Woman when other kids would upset me - guess I thought if I spun around I'd get that great outfit and a lasso to fend them off LOL
