Happy Monday everybody - how was your weekend? We had a wonderful, leisurely weekend - ended up just hanging around the house, did a little grocery shopping at Trader Joe's and watched basketball and a movie - Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. It's pretty good - and definitely quirky :) Friday was DH's last day at his job, so he was in a celebratory mood :) Of course, this week, when he has to start looking for a new job, may not be quite so chipper LOL And, it made it all the harder for me to go back to work today - it'd be much more fun to hang out at home with him LOL!

Busy! I don't a created one thing - here it is Tuesday, and I still haven't created anything - going into the DT's!!

I liked that movie too - so different for Jim Carrey and he was surprisingly good - nice to see he can do other things and do them well

Oh I LOVE Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind!!! Highly recommend it for the quirky at heart!

My weekend was pretty leisurely too . . .It was my first few days back at work last week after months of unemployment so it's been kind of rough getting my body to re-adjust to the routine. So let's just say I slept a lot more than any human being should in one weekend LOL Also tried to get caught up on some artquirks that need getting done. I'm almost done my ATC's for the mail swap but I'm totally stuck on my naming ceremony name and layout. And Friday is going to come quickly . . . I was wondering if there was any chance I could be exempt from the rules and deadlines, on account of the fact that I'm the one that made them!? LOL!
Just kidding.

Lisa, good luck to your hubby for finding a job! Boy do I know what that's like! Not fun. I'll be sending good vibes your way in hopes he finds something quickly!

You know I still haven't been able to see that movie!! I'll have to check it out soon. Well my weekend...let's see, I stayed up until 5 a.m. finishing up on my Mom's and MIL's creations (made them each a heritage wall art piece). So on Mom's day I was a bit sleepy. At the end of the day I cried, as I almost always do on Mother's Day...it's always a hard day for me, sort of a reminder that I'm not a mom. Anyways, at least tonight ended up better.

Gina - sorry to hear you had a rough day.

It isn't the weekend anymore? Where does the time go. I swear weekends are only one day long. Well I worked on Saturday morning and then had baseball games, out to lunch and generally chasing kids around. Oh yeah - I paper scrapped Saturday night. Sunday my husband had to leave after breakfast to go on a business trip so in honor of Mother's Day, I decided to skip church (not so fun with 4 kids!) and we had my mom come over. The kids picked where we would go to lunch and what did they decide on??? PIZZA HUT! It was actually great because there was not a crowd of people like at every restaurant in the city. In fact we were the only ones in the place. I'll stop talking now.

Who would've thought Pizza Hut would be such a great Mother's Day spot LOL!

And, Gina, sorry to hear it was a rough day for ya - (((HUGS)))) I'm glad you got your creations done though :)

My daughter came to visit this weekend. It's amazing how much change just one person can make in a household. She talks, talks, talks (which I love, but I'm just not used to anymore). I stayed so busy with her, my Mom and my four sisters that I didn't get to work on the computer at all. I did do some paper scrapping -- finished up a Rusty Pickle folder with a Moulin Rouge theme.

My hubby was home for 4 days, so it was a totally fun but frustrating and exhausting at the same time. I had to go buy myself flowers for Mother's Day, that's what kind of fun it was.

I love Eternal Sunshine! We watched the movie Hero this weekend, which was so incredibly artistic. I just ate it up. We also had a visit from the in-laws which is always tiring. Luckily they took my toddler for a few days, so I am totally slacking today with the 5-month old. Well, I would be slacking if she wasn't teething and would take a nap! Now I need to do some major catch up on gallery comments!

I am still recovering from the weekend. We had my DH's mom and all his siblings over. I cooked a really big meal, all from stratch and even though he helped with the clean up, it takes me at least a day to recover. At least I didn't have anything planned for Monday so I could take it easy. I have a respiratory problem that leaves me easily exhausted so I kind of have to pace myself. I camped out in my bed and scrapped last night. I did my first MAD layout and I had fun, so different for me!

Scrapping in bed! Now there's a plan :) And to think, when we got a new computer I said I didn't want another laptop - what was I thinking LOL!

Yet another reason to trade in my desktop for a laptop!!

Hmm, I can't figure out how to scrap on my Laptop. That tiny little mousy thing eludes me. I gotta have my Wacom, I'm totally spoiled by that now and consider it a necessity.

Gina, I'm so sorry to hear of your sadness. So many women want to be mothers and cannot that it just breaks my heart. Adoption? Don't know your circumstances but I do know there are so many children in need of families. NOt an easy road, but a worthwhile journey.

My weekend was good. Family gone all day Saturday so I had it to myself. That was a wonderful Mother's Day present! Lack of interuption! Checked out Scrapbook Graphics and came away very impressed. Bought some goodies. Scrapped some things. Photographed another house yesterday, my second job. It turned out very well, client pleased. Yay.

*finished up a Rusty Pickle folder with a Moulin Rouge theme.*

Please please post a picture or explain. My poor brain is reeling! I spent Saturday mornign crying b/c no washer, Saturday afternoon unsucessfully trying to buy washer, Saturday night visiting. Sunday shopping for washer, Sunday visiting. Monday praying washer would be delivered, today tracking down washer (imagine a truckload of snake oil salesmen all leering and singing in barbershop quartet perfection: Tomorrow, tomorrow...I love you tomorrow, you're always a day away) which may come in tomorrow, etcetera etcetera etcetera. I have to keep using my leaking washer.

On the upside, Max gave me a home made room freshener for Mother's Day. Joe was nicely primed and was able to exclaim "Oh, look at that fantastic air freshener" as I tore off the tissue paper thus saving the moment from potentially awkward silence. Ya gotta wonder what drugs these kindergarten teachers are on...

Better yet, scrapping in the recliner. I made myself a lap table that I can fit my laptop, my Wacom tablet, and a tiny external hard drive on it. I just have to make sure I don't have too much coffee or tea at dinner because it is tricky to get up out of the recliner with the table and all the stuff on it! :D

Oh Robyn, Lisa, Ursula & Jessica...thank you for the cyber hugs! It's so nice to know that you all care! About adoption...dh & I always planned to adopt whether we had our own children or not but we are not able to financially at this time.

Well...I hope you all have wonderful Wednesdays!! :D Can you believe it already?

Ok Gina, here's my short answer, PM me if you'd like to know more. I've adopted 2 children and THEY pay me to do it. Now, obviously that's not a reason to do it, but the government is desperately looking for families to adopt children. In fact, just today, I got a call asking if we'd like to give a permanent home to a six month old girl. when you adopt children, (I didn't know all this about subsidy when we first started our journey) through DES, they will pay you a very generous subsidy monthly until the child is 18. they also pay all the court expences except I think we had to pay a filing fee, less than $50. So, for what that's worth.
